Frequently asked questions

Will my private hospitalization insurance reimburse the costs of plastic surgery?

Private hospitalization insurance will normally only cover reconstructive procedures (i.e. procedures that have a nomenclature code). These interventions are considered to be non-aesthetic, since they are (partially) reimbursed by the national health insurance. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information.

How long does the procedure for breast augmentation take ?

Breast augmentation surgery takes about 1 hour. A breast lift or breast reduction takes about 2.5 hours to complete.

Will the surgeon prescribe sick leave?

Sick leave is only granted for reconstructive surgery. For aesthetic procedures, you must take the needed days off from work at your own initiative. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information.

What are the risks of breast surgery? Can complications occur?

There are no special risks associated with breast surgery. Just like with any procedure, complications are possible. Postoperative bleeding may occur in the hour following breast correction. Naturally, our qualified staff will immediately intervene to remedy the bleeding should that be the case. Complications may also occur in a later stage, e.g. capsule formation (rejection of a foreign body), or reduced/lost sensation in the nipples.

Can I have multiple procedures done at the same time?

Whether you can have multiple procedures done at the same time depends on the extent and duration of the procedures, as well as the anatomical regions on which they are performed. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information.
